GOAT Gaming is a Web3 gaming ecosystem that allows players to earn money by playing games. What makes GOAT Gaming unique is that it provides AI agents for both players and developers. The platform currently has nearly 5 million users on Telegram.

2. Background & Problem Statement

Since 2021, many P2E (Play-to-Earn) games have been released. These games mint cryptocurrencies and NFTs for in-game items, allowing players to earn real income.

Consider the case of Axie Infinity, an Ethereum-based blockchain game developed in 2018. It gained massive popularity in the Philippines. One of the reasons is that many Filipinos lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and turned to Axie Infinity as an alternative source of income. At its peak, around 40% of Axie Infinity players were Filipino. However, as the value of cryptocurrencies declined, player earnings fell below the minimum wage. As a result, the average daily player count dropped from 2.5 million to just 25,000.

Thus, the P2E model faces several challenges:

  2. Uncertainty in the value of digital assets
  3. Inconsistent income due to token price fluctuations
  4. Unsustainable systems dependent on new user inflow
  5. Long time required to generate meaningful profit

  • I think the concept of a fully autonomous AI agent could be a game-changer.
  • I thought blockchain tokens in P2E games would always collapse due to inflation, but unlocking a fixed amount of existing tokens rather than minting new ones could be a solution.
